The South-Eastern Finland Vitality Centre has opened a call for business development grants to support the defence industry and the growth of dual-use product production capacity in Southern Finland (Uusimaa, Päijät-Häme, Kymenlaakso and South Karelia). The application period is 15 April–31 October 2026.
The amount of funding available in the call is approximately EUR 15 million from the EU's Renewing and Skilled Finland 2021–2027 programme. Of this, EUR 7,5 million is already in use by the Vitality Centre. The funding will particularly strengthen the growth, internationalisation and innovation of SMEs and develop solutions that can be used in both civilian and defence applications.
Grants can be awarded to:
The maximum level of support for development projects is 50%, and for investments, 20–40%, depending on the size of the company. The minimum grant is 10,000 euros.
The financing is primarily aimed at SMEs that have the potential for growth and international business.
Applications are submitted in the EURA2021 system before the start of the project, and it is hoped that they will be carefully prepared.
